About
We have the rather exceptional luxury of working at an institute (Institute for Language Sciences) that has a substantial number of theoreticians specialising in a variety of topics in syntax and its interfaces.
We want to create an open and supportive space for all of us that will result in
- an exchange of ideas about syntactic theory and methodology
- more interactions among syntacticians and semanticists, morphologists, or phonologists interested in the interfaces
- an increase of the resources every single one of us can draw on regularly
- all of us being up to date with what our colleagues are currently working on
- broadening our horizons by following current linguistic research outside our field of specialisation
How to access the talks:
SIL talks usually take place on Thursdays from 16.00 until 17.00 (CET), whereas talks labeled as EXTRA may take place in different days and time-slots.
The talks take place either online in our Syntax Interface Lectures team on MS Teams or in presence at Utrecht University (but still maintaining a hybrid format for our regular attendees from abroad whenever possible).
- For those who join us online, it is necessary to subscribe to the newsletter as we will share the link to each talk there, including the link to our SIL team (if you are already part of the team, you can open MS Teams, select the Syntax Interface Lectures team, go to General, look for the post of the corresponding talk and join directly from there; otherwise, just follow the link that is sent on the day of the talk through the newsletter).
- For those who attend the talks in person, make sure you check out the room in advance on our website as it may differ from one talk to another.
